My Putney based client requires a Jnr DBA (SQL Server) to joint their team and conduct the following duties:
• Generate reports using MS Reporting Services
• Reporting to the IT Manager and working closely with the Senior DBA, you will be supporting the companies’ databases and help to identify bottlenecks and quickly fix them.
• Making available all online Production database servers (databases include SQL Server 2000, MySQL and 2005)
• Provide full documentation of all databases backup and recovery processes
• Approve all schema changes on all production databases
• Implement a failover system (database cluster)
• Responsible for performance tuning of T-SQL routines
• Design and implement archiving old data
• Work closely with development team leader and senior systems administrator in making architectural decisions
• Be aware of issues affecting performance and collaborate with Software Development team
• Be aware of new developments in database development and implementation practices
